The ‘Mountain Inn Guide’

If you can you imagine nothing more pleasant than sitting in cosy surroundings with a glass of wine, enjoying good home-made food, then come to one of South Tyrol’s traditional country inns, which cater for both locals and tourists.
Home produce, such as fruit juices, speciality dishes, seasonal fruit and, of course, local wine, has been on the menu here for decades. In order to help you find these more out-of-the-way inns, the Farmers’ Union of South Tyrol has published ‘Mountain Inn Guide’.
As well as South Tyrolean inns (‘Buschenschänke’), ‘Hofschänke’ - farms serving food but without their own vineyards to produce wine on the premises - will be listed. Whether you find yourself enjoying the culinary fare of a ‘Buschenschank’ or a ‘Hofschank’, you will experience the utmost in hospitality wherever you go. Indeed, to ensure that only the best places are listed, every farm in our latest guide has to undergo strict quality controls in order to receive the ‘Red Rooster’ logo.
