A riding farm fulfils the following criteria:

  • a classification of at least four flowers.
  • breakfast with at least twelve different products.
  • the bedrooms have wooden floors.
  • horses are kept and horseback riding is available directly on the farm.
  • a member of the family is a certified cross-country riding guide, trail riding guide or trainer and offers professional beginner lessons and guided rides.
  • a member of the family gives instructions on how to handle the horses.
  • the possibility to look after and care for the riding horses.
  • at least five riding horses on the farm.
  • horses are kept in stalls with sufficient daylight and a good stable climate, as well as paddocks or grazing for sufficient exercise.
  • a riding arena on the farm.
  • a well-kept saddle room and saddle or bridle, as well as stable halters for each riding horse.
  • three-point safety helmets.
  • cleaning and care set for each horse.
  • sanitary facilities for the riders.
  • washing facilities for riding accessories.
  • a changing room and cloakroom for riding clothes.
  • veterinary reports on the health of the horses.
  • animal liability insurance and accident insurance.
  • a first aid kit for guests and horses.
  • a horseshoeing set for emergency interventions.
  • specialist literature on the subject of riding and a trade magazine is available in German and Italian.
