How to boil an egg properly

Never put eggs into boiling water right from the fridge, as they will break. Give them time to adapt to room temperature. If you’re in a hurry, carefully pierce the shell with a needle on the wide end where the air bubble is.

1 glass of fruit juice a day

One glass of fruit juice a day takes care of your daily vitamin C requirements. It also aids iron absorption.

Dried fruit snacks

Nutrition experts recommend five portions of fruit or vegetables a day. That sounds like a lot, but can be done if you incorporate dried fruit into your diet. Small and handy, it fits into every bag!

The correct storage of cheese

Cheese likes to be kept at a temperature of 12 degrees celsius. A cool cellar is ideal for this, but you can also store cheese in the vegetable tray of your fridge. One exception: cream cheese likes to be kept cool.

Tasting spirits the right way

Unlike with wine tasting, you should not swill the spirit around the glass. The alcohol will just get stirred up and smother the delicate fruity aromas. The best tasting can be carried out when you bring the glass to your nose to smell the spirit after 20 – 30 seconds and then taste. The right drinking temperature lies between 16° and 17 °C.

Fruit syrup for summer and winter

When it’s cold outside, lot of fruit syrups can be diluted and drunk with hot water or herb tea. They are just as delicious, however, when drunk with cold water as a refreshing drink or poured over ice cream, jellies, semolina or other desserts.

The ideal cheese aroma

Cheese develops its ideal aroma at room temperature. That’s why it’s a good idea to take cheese out of the fridge half an hour before eating. Too frequent or extreme changes in temperature, however, can damage the quality and taste of the cheese, so only take out the amount that you are going to eat.

Colouring cream with fruit syrup

When you want to colour whipping cream, we recommend you use fruit syrup. Just carefully fold the syrup into the ready whipped cream.
