South Tyrol's farming families produce their own products with the help of a lot of traditional and expert knowledge. More than 75% of the raw materials for the Roter Hahn quality products come from their own farms, where they are expertly processed.

No matter whether spring, summer, autumn or winter: The animals in the barn but also the orchards, vegetable fields, grain fields and vineyards must be cherished and cared for throughout the year. Young and old are busy with a wide variety of tasks. While the animals have to be cared for at fixed times every day, the season determines the work in the fields. In addition, weather and soil conditions influence farming activities. Many South Tyrolean mountain farmers, for example, work under difficult conditions on extremely steep slopes in order to produce the best raw materials.
