Holiday in the country

Springtime in South Tyrol
South Tyrol has made a name for itself as being one of the most fertile and prolific apple-growing areas in Europe. Why not take a farm holiday to experience and enjoy this natural phenomenon to the full?

Once the apple trees have been pruned and preparations have been made for the new season, it isn’t long before just two colours start to dominate the landscape along the Etsch river in South Tyrol – red and white, stretching as far as the eye can see! In the spring months of April and May, a vast area of 18,000 hectares on the sunny side of the Alps is in blossom – and thousands of apples start to grow.

An ideal base for an excursion through this sea of blossom is one of the many farms in South Tyrol offering comfortable holiday accommodation. All you need to do is get on your bike and ride through the orchards or get right up close to the apple blossom during a walk: setting off from the farm, you’ll be in for a real treat on your spring holiday in Europe‘s largest enclosed apple-growing region. The mild and sunny climate in South Tyrol creates the ideal conditions not only for fruit growing, but also for your holiday in the country.
