Ski touring in South Tyrol

Farms for all seasons: South Tyrol’s farms make the perfect base for ski tourers

A mountain-peak break with farm products
Ski touring is one of the earliest forms of skiing. A day out involving a bit of adventure and a sporting challenge, close contact with nature, yet still requiring an appreciation and respect for their alpine surroundings, is what more and more skiing enthusiasts are after. South Tyrol’s mountain farms make the ideal base camp, as skiers can set off right from the farm already high up above the valley. Your farm hosts will be glad to help you in planning your tour or they may even accompany skiers far away from the hustle and bustle of the slopes.
Sufficiently fortified by a healthy farmhouse breakfast made from farm products, you can softly and quietly make your way through the winter mountain landscape. A good long break at the top of the mountain featuring tasty farm food will give you renewed strength and vigour for your descent down virgin slopes. After a strenuous day’s ski touring, South Tyrol’s hearty farmhouse cooking will taste even better.
