Farm holidays in Kuens
A Farm Holiday in Kuens helps you to find a place of calm and the chance to relax doing sport and enjoying culture.

Kuens is situated at the point where the Passeiertal valley turns off to the left. This little village has maintained its traditional character and is ideal for finding a place of calm amidst nature. The parish of Kuens is one of the smallest in South Tyrol, with just 400 inhabitants, but offers great value in terms of its mild climate and the Alpine backdrop of Texelgruppe Nature Park. Lots of walks may be set off on from the front door of a holiday flat in Kuens. Easy paths and steeper routes starting at 592 metres above sea level go up to mountain huts and peaks. Exploring the area is easy by road bike or mountain bike. The spa town of Meran with its shopping options beneath the medieval arcades and historical buildings is quickly reached.

A Farm Holiday in Kuens with traditional dishes
Vineyards and apple trees shape the landscape around the farms and create the ideal atmosphere for relaxing and unwinding on a Farm Holiday in Kuens. From spring to autumn, there is fresh fruit and vegetables available from the garden, wine from the farm vineyards and other goodies carefully prepared in the farm kitchen. You'll still find traditional 'Stuben'on lots of farm, as well as in the farm inns and bars, where you can get acquainted with the local food.

Hiking for all the family
A holiday flat in Kuens makes a central base for hikes in the surrounding area, whether on the Meran high altitude path or into idyllic Spronsertal. The earth pyramid path in Fineletal valley reveals some interesting pyramid structures with their typical stone slab hats that have formed over the course of many years due to rainfall washing away the slopes around them. The Kuenser Waalweg path is popular, too. It runs along a 600-year-old irrigation channel and follows its flat and shady course to the where it starts at Finelebach stream at an altitude of 1,020 metres – the ideal walk for nature lovers and families with children. The start of the walk is Ungericht Hof farm, where a treat is in store for fans of old motors.

A museum just for tractors
What could be better than learning about how things have changed at your holiday destination over time? There is the chance to do this on a Farm Holiday in Kuens when watching farmers harvesting apples or grapes as well as at the tractor museum at Ungerichthof farm. Here, you can learn all about one of the most important vehicles in South Tyrolean agriculture. A total of 30 'Porsche-Diesel' tractors of different vintages which have been lovingly restored to the last detail may be admired. Visitors will be fascinated by other such motorised workhorses, particularly the veteran of the collection – a 'Balilla' from 1929. Art and culture lovers should not miss out on the parish church of Kuens. This building, assumed to date back to the 8th century, was restored in the 12th century in Romanesque style and is dedicated to St. Mauritius and Corbinian. The latter founded a monastery in Kuens and the village crest depicts him riding a bear on a pilgrimage to Rome. The chancel and pointed arch portal from the 15th century as well as the wall paintings and a sundial on the outside wall are well worth seeing.
