The ‚Red Rooster’ trademark stands for quality and transparency, guaranteed via strict quality criteria and controls.

Aim

Our aim with ‚Red Rooster’ is to establish four types of second occupation for South Tyrolean farmers
   

Agriculture in South Tyrol is small scale agriculture, which means that it is becoming more and more difficult for farmers to make a living exclusively from farming. An increasing number of farmers are finding it necessary to earn additional income from non-farming activities due to the falling prices of their products. The necessity of working both on the farm and elsewhere puts family life under strain, therefore we aim to support local farmers by creating extra income from the farm, thus guaranteeing the sustainable development of South Tyrol’s rural culture.

History

The ‚Red Rooster’ trademark was created in 1998 by the Farmer’s Union of South Tyrol for farms offering Farm Holidays in South Tyrol. Since 2003 ‚Red Rooster’ has also stood for ‚Farm Inns and Bars’ and ‚Quality Farm Products’ in South Tyrol.
