Choose a farm over a beach holiday

A quick and easy journey instead of huge traffic jams, a cooling breeze instead of unbearable heat, the mountains instead of the sea: our farms offer a relaxed alternative to your summer beach holiday. These rural holiday spots set between the peaks of the Dolomites and vineyards are far less overrun than the tourist resorts between Venice and Rimini and they offer accommodation in a genuine family setting.

But summer holidays wouldn’t be the same without the beach, you say? No problem! 24 of the farms are less than 500 metres and 200 less than 5 kilometres away from the nearest cooling-off spot. There are lots of opportunities to splash around either in a nearby mountain lake or in the farm’s own natural pool.

The choice of idyllically placed watering holes ranges from Völser Weiher lake in the surroundings of the Schlern mountain, the natural bathing lake in Lüsen in Eisacktal, to Kalterer See lake in the south of South Tyrol - the warmest bathing lake in the Alps. The large and small Montigglersee lakes in Eppan are a great little secret, too. If you’re looking for something a bit more adventurous, a hike to the Spronser Seen lakes above Dorf Tirol will make for a more bracing dip in the water.

Nearly 90 of these rural holiday bases have their own swimming pool in the garden, many of which don’t contain chemicals.

The natural bathing ponds on ‘Red Rooster‘ farms are chlorine-free and an absolute highlight of your trip, allowing the whole family to spend carefree hours splashing around and enjoying the great outdoors.
