A
farm holiday on a South Tyrolean farm is a great experience at any time of year. In
spring the fruit trees of the Vinschgau and Eisack valleys and Meraner Land turn the countryside into a sea of blossom. This is a time of contrasts - whilst nature is awakening down in the valleys, high up in the mountains the peaks are still glistening with snow. Soon after that, the mountain pastures display their first signs of colour and the farms are alive to the sounds and antics of young farm animals.
Summer in the mountains smells of hay. The cows take a well-earned break on the mountain pasture.
Autumn tastes of wine, ‚speck’ and chestnuts. The tradition at so-called ‚törggele’ time is to try the year’s new wine. This is the best time to go hiking. The air is crystal clear and the views are magnificent. In
winter there’s a snowy wonderland right outside your door. Walking in the snow and enjoying the peace and quiet is the order of the day. Some farms are even situated on ski pistes. How can a
mountain holiday in South Tyrol fail to be an unforgettable experience?
