Opening times

Open from 11th March to 21st May Saturday and Sunday from 12 noon to 3.00 pm. Open from 1st October to 25th November on Fridays and Saturdays from 6.00 p.m. as well as on Sundays from 12 noon to 5.00 p.m. Advance booking required.

Description

The Villscheiderhof inn is ideally positioned along the well-known Chestnut Trail and looks out over Brixen, the seat of the local bishop. The Hilpold family are looking forward to treating you to tasty dishes and excellent wines in their farmhouse parlour or on the terrace. Wine tasting sessions are also available on the farm on arrangement.

Food and drink

Home-made bread, smoked sausage, 'Speck', sour beef, a variety of soups and dumplings, 'Schlutzkrapen' ravioli, 'Krapfen' pastries. In spring, alternating spring salads, ravioli with game ragu, 'Tirtlen' fritters, 'Bauerngröstl' sautéed dish, game dishes, beef, pork or lamb dishes, home-made cakes or semifreddo. In autumn, cream of pumpkin soup, pumpkin ravioli, barley soup, meat cuts. Cordials: apple, elderflower, blackcurrant and mint.

Our vines

The Sylvaner 2021 is complex and multi-faceted, with its aroma dominated by apple and apricot. The 2021 Kerner has a peach, tomato leaf and paprika scent and is an excellent ambassador for its variety. The 2021 Riesling is particularly multi-layered in aroma. The 2020 Zweigelt has a forest fruit fragrance.

To go by car

Drive down 'Bahnhofstrasse' from Brixen train station towards the centre. Take the fourth exit at the second roundabout and drive up another 1.5 km (following signs).

To hoof

From Vahrn (80 min.) or Pinzagen (40 min.) via the Chestnut Trail (Keschtnweg) to the farm. Or from the bus station in Brixen via the European Path of Contemplation (Europa Besinnungsweg) in the direction of St. Cyrill (45 min.). For further tips on hikes, see www.villscheider.info.
