Description
The sun terrace at the Kinigerhof at 1,399 metres above sea level occupies prime position for viewing the gigantic Sextner Dolomites. The house speciality is cured meat: the Speck from various different pork cuts, cured beef, sausage, salami and cooked ’Speck’ are excellent. The many herbs and berries from the farm garden used in the cooking add a special touch. The farm also takes Farm Holiday guests.
Food and drink
Mixed platter with 'Speck', cheese, cured beef, smoked sausage, farmhouse salami and cooked 'Speck'. Barley, vegetable and 'Speck' dumpling soup. Alternating according to season, cheese, spinach, herb, beetroot and mushroom dumplings. A variety of ravioli with seasonal fillings. Gulash with dumplings, braised meat, entrecote, tenderloin or tartar from farm cattle. Dishes made with pork raised on the farm, such as roast pork and sausages, as well as spare ribs and knuckle of pork with sauerkraut when ordered one day in advance. 'Kaiserschmarrn' sweet pancakes, strudel, home-made ice cream and a variety of cakes. Cordials: elderflower, rasberry as well as blackcurrant.
To go by car
Turn left at ’Sport Mode Kiniger’ in Sexten, follow the ’Europaweg’ to Hotel St. Veit and the farm is signposted from there.
To hoof
Walk straight up from valley cable car terminal of Helm ski lift to the old hayrack and cross the road to Kinigerhof (15 minutes). From the farm you can take the Sextner Themenweg path or walk up to Helm (via Mitterberg).
