Open from March to May on Sundays at midday, in July and August from Tuesday to Thursday from midday to 11.00 pm, in September on Wednesday and Thursday from midday to 11.00 pm, only at midday on Friday and Saturday, in October and November from Wednesday to Sunday from midday to 11.00 pm. Advance booking recommended.

Description
First mentioned in records in 1379, Fronthof farm is the largest fully-preserved farmhouse in South Tyrol built on a steep slope from stone and is something special. The old, panelled dining rooms provides the ideal setting for special occasions and makes a great stopping point after a walk along the 'Oachner Höfeweg' Farmstead Trail.
Food and drink
'Speck', smoked sausage, speck dumplings, ‘Schlutzer’ ravioli. In autumn roast spare ribs, meat cuts, black pudding, chestnuts, ‘Kloatzenkrapfen’ fried pastries. In spring and summer wholewheat crispbread ravioli, ricotta dumplings, ravioli with seasonal fillings, beef or pork specialities from own herd. Juices: apple, raspberry, elderflower and mint.
Our vines
Notes of elderflower dominate the 2018 Pinot Blanc. The 2018 Sylvaner has a pear scent. The 2018 Kerner is especially fruity. Green notes of paprika, tomato, sage as well as gooseberry dominate the 2018 Sauvignon. The 2016 Zweigelt displays an aroma of blackberry and forest fruit. It is juicy and uncomplicated on the palate. The 2017 Pinot Noir has elegance thanks to its maturation in wooden casks.
To go by car
Drive from Blumau in the Tiers direction. Take the turning off the main road to Völser Aicha and turn right about 200 m. before the church. After 300 m. you will reach the farm.
To hoof
The ’Oachner Höfeweg’ (’Oachner Farmstead Trail’) can be taken to the Fronthof starting at Schloss Prösels or St. Katharina (about 1.5 hours).
