The Country Gourmet is now out and features the ‚Rural Inn of the Year’.

Live out a piece of genuine rural life in South Tyrol, taste traditional dishes, discover where products come from, try home-made fruit juices and exclusive wines and enjoy the cosy atmosphere to be found within traditional wood-panelled parlour walls. More and more locals as well as holidaymakers are looking for just this and find their wishes fulfilled at one of the 37 ‚Red Rooster’ rural inns.

The companion to rural cuisine contains 22 selected farm inns and 15 farm bars located over the whole of South Tyrol. The Farmers’ Union of South Tyrol carries out checks on the farms beforehand and subjects them to strict quality controls.

Rural atmosphere, good facilities and traditional farm food, mainly produced on the premises, has played a fundamental role in this selection process. In addition, the farm wine from the bars was tasted by a group of experts from the Laimburg research centre and the Farmers’ Union wine farming workgroup and technical tips were given when necessary.
