Zmailer-Hof in Schenna

Zmailer Hof farm looks out from the Schennerberg mountainside over the Meran valley basin and across to the Etsch river valley. It is the ideal destination for a mountain walk. Parts of the old farmhouse, such as the kitchen, hallway and pretty frescoes at the entrance to the house are under listed building protection. Guests can enjoy the tasty house specialities on the sun terrace or in the cosy farmhouse parlour. The excellent fruit juices are a treat not to be missed.

Speck and cheese, various soups, fried egg with roast potatoes, nettle dumplings, cheese dumplings, speck dumplings with salad (in spring with chicory), pancakes, various omelettes, strudel and fritters. Sundays or on request: goulash, roast lamb, house sausage with kraut, farm roast or spare ribs. Juices: raspberry, blackcurrant, elderberry and apple.

Open every day from the beginning of April to the end of November. Orders taken in advance for meals in the evening. Closed on Fridays in July and August

From the valley terminal of the Ifinger cable car via Path 24 (Raststeinweg; around 1.5 hours), or from Verdins in the Valplatz direction to the Zmailer Hof farm (1.5 hours).

At Schenna/Scene, turn right after the 'Tannerhof' to St. Georgen, then after 50 m into Pichlerstraße and then right again into Bergerweg. After about 2 km turn right into a gravel road and after 800 m you will find the Zmailer Hof.
