Description
Hof zu Wasser' farm was first mentioned in records as far back as 1366. Brothers Andreas and Christoph Mock have carefully renovated the farm and combined new sections with existing buildings. The result may be seen and tasted and guests will appreciate the special atmosphere and home-produced wine, along with tasty dishes from the farm kitchen.
Food and drink
Speck, 'Kaminwurzen' smoked sausage, cheese, various soups, beetroot, leek, Graukäse cheese and Speck dumplings, 'Schlutzer' spinach ravioli, barley risotto, Speck and cabbage salad, marinated beef. Stewed beef with spelt gnocchi to advance order. In spring nettle and asparagus dumplings, wild garlic and cream cheese gnocchi, lamb. In autumn meat cuts, home-made sausage with cabbage, venison goulash with red cabbage and chestnut pasta. Juices: apple, raspberry and elderflower.
Our vines
The discreet 2010 Müller-Thurgau is pleasantly full-bodied and delicately acidic. The 2010 St. Magdalener has a typical ruby-red hue and delicate body. The 2009 Zweigelt is also very characteristic of its kind. The 2009 Cabernet has a spicy bouquet and is still youthful when drunk, displaying granular yet well integrated tannins.
