Description
Strasserhof farm lies above Neustift amidst vineyards and enjoys great views across the whole of the Brixen valley basin. The cosy old panelled parlour is just as impressive. Whether inside or outside, seated under the walnut tree, guests will feel at home on the Strasserhof farm. Farm Holiday guests are also welcome.
Food and drink
Speck, cheese, ‘Kaminwurzen’ (chimney smoked sausage), barley soup, ‘Schlutzer’ (spinach ravioli), cheese dumplings, spinach dumplings, ‘Surfleisch’ (cured pork), house sausage with cabbage. On advance order: ‘Erdäpfelblattlen’ (fried potato pasties) with cabbage, goulash soup, farmhouse roast. Juices: apple, elderflower, red currant.
Our vines
The 2010 Müller-Thurgau has a delicate citrus nose and is full-bodied on the palate, conveying a pleasant warmth yet elegant acidity. The 2010 Sylvaner is complex, very full-bodied and lengthy, with an excellent sugar-acid balance. The 2010 Kerner is characteristically hearty and pleasantly warms the palate, leaving a lingering aftertaste. The 2010 Gewürztraminer displays the typical floral bouquet of the Eisacktal valley wines and its subtle late vintage notes herald its warmth and length. The 2010 Portugieser is extremely harmonious with a fruity character. The 2009 Zweigelt displays a deep cherry-red hue and its nose is also is reminiscent of cherries.
