Opening times
Open from mid September to beginning of December from 16.00 to 24.00 every day. On weekends open from 12.00. Open during April and May on prior arrangement at weekends. Booking recommended.
Description
Gostnerhof farm in Barbian is on the sunny side of the Eisack river valley. Guests can enjoy savouring original Eisack valley farmhouse fare amidst colourful vineyards beneath the rays of the autumn sun. Two cosy farmhouse parlours invite guests to sit and get stuck into some delicious culinary treats. We have a large children’s playground for kids to play around in.
Food and drink
Speck', 'Kaminwurzen' smoked sausages, cheese, home-baked bread, barley soup or 'Schlutzer' spinach and ricotta ravioli, meat platter with house sausage and cabbage, chestnuts. To order: cheese gnocchi, various soups, spinach, 'Speck' or buckwheat dumplings, mutton, farm pan roast, potato pancakes, apple strudel, cakes and 'Krapfen' fried pastries. In spring, nettle dumplings, chicory, roast veal. Cordials: raspberry, elderflower and apple.
Our vines
The 2014 Müller Thurgau has a strong and spicy bouquet and displays rich fruit on the palate. The 2014 Vernatsch is reminiscent of sweet cherry and puts forward plenty of juicy fruit and balanced tannins. The 2014 Zweigelt has a black cherry and elderflower aroma and is rounded off by substantial spice and good tannic structure on the palate. The 2014 Pinot Noir displays typical forest fruit and cherry aromas.
To go by car
From Waidbruck/Ponte Gardena, take the road in the direction of Barbian. After 2 km you will reach Gostnerhof on the left hand side of the road.
To hoof
Circuit walk from Waidbruck/Ponte Gardena along the cycle path to Kollmann, to the 'Schinterhöfe' farmhouses, then via St. Maria to the 'Plattnerhof' farm until you get to the Buschenschank (farmhouse inn). From there you return to Waidbruck/Ponte Garden
