Description

At the Falschauerhof in St. Gertraud at the end of the Ulten valley you will need 5 minutes to look 2,300 years of history in the face in the form of ancient larches right on the farm. You can enjoy 360 degree panoramic views from here over the whole Ulten valley and around the breathtaking mountain world. You're sure to feel at home in the small panelled dining room, where Frau Gruber will serve up typical farm dishes.

Food and drink

Speck, smoked beef, pork sausages, salami and ham, accompanied by pickled vegetables. Barley and goat soup, 'Pfanne Muas', omelettes with wild spinach or mangold, home-made pasta with rabbit or game ragu´, Speck, liver and cheese dumplings. Goat, rabbit, kid goat and lamb, beef, veal and pork, accompanied by vegetables and seasonal salad. Juices: elderflower, blackcurrant, raspberry and apple.

To go by car

From Lana, drive in the Ultental/Val d'Ultimo direction to just before St. Gertraud. Drive over a bridge at the bus stop on the left. After about 100 km you will reach the Falschauerhof on the right hand side.

To hoof

The walk from farm to farm from St. Gertraud to Kuppelwies (about 1.5 hours) starts at the 'Falschauerhof', which lies at the start of the Klopfbergtal valley and is just 10 minutes' walk from the ancient larches.
