Description

High above Bozen, nestled away in an ancient chestnut grove on the sunny slopes of the Ritten mountain, is Ebnicherhof farm. This is the perfect destination for mild autumn walks, when the countryside is ablaze with colour and the sky crystal clear. The farmhouse parlour and sun terrace are the ideal place to while away the time enjoying typical farm dishes, ‘Nuier’, the season’s new wine, and unique views stretching from the Dolomites to the Überetsch (Upper Adige) valley and Unterland (Lower Adige).

Food and drink

Speck, cheese, ‘Kaminwurzen’ (chimney smoked sausage). Three dumpling assortment, barley soup, house sausage with cabbage, as well as cake and ‘Krapfen’ (fried pastries). On advance order ‘Schlutzer’ (spinach ravioli) and cold cuts platter. Chestnuts in the autumn. Dumplings with chicory salad in the spring, minced roast meat, along with spare ribs with potatoes. Juices: apple, elderflower and raspberry.

Our vines

The 2010 Müller-Thurgau is a fresh, fruity and vivacious wine. The 2009 Müller-Thurgau has been aged in wooden barrels and is somewhat more intensive and complex. The 2010 Rosè appeals thanks to its attractive colour. It has a delicately fresh and floral nose with a youthful and smooth taste. The 2010 Vernatsch is pleasantly consistent and fresh in hue, aroma and taste. The 2010 Pinot Noir displays a stronger aroma, more intensive taste and body - a wine to drink with heartier dishes.

To go by car

At St. Magdalena in Bozen/Bolzano, follow the steep, narrow road for 3 km, taking you directly to Ebnicherhof .

To hoof

From Castel Runkelstein via the Chestnut Trail path (about 1.5 hours) or with the Ritten/Renon cable car to Oberbozen and then from the top via path 2 or 6 downwards. The turnings to the 'Ebnicherhof' are signposted (about 1 hour).
