Description

Lajen-Ried is well known as the cradle of the ‘Törggele’ culture, when the season’s new wine is served up with accompanying farmhouse fare in autumn. However, guests will enjoy a stop here at any time of year. The Schenk family dishes up seasonal delicacies from the garden and wine cellar in the 17th century panelled farmhouse parlour both in winter and spring.

Food and drink

Speck and cheese, barley soup, spinach ravioli, speck dumplings and meat cuts with kraut, omelettes, pancakes, fried spinach pancakes and fritters. In autumn chestnuts and nuts.On request: spinach or black plantain dumplings and roast spare ribs. Juices: elderflower, blackcurrant, raspberry, mulberry and apple.

Our vines

The 2010 cuvee from Müller-Thurgau, Gewürztraminer and Kerner grapes has a varied and intensive bouquet. It is very complex, substantial and pleasant when drunk. The red 2010 blend of Portugieser and Zweigelt grapes is very fruity with medium body and fresh acidity. The tannins range from smooth to granular, yet are harmonious and pleasant. the 2010 Zweigelt displays good body and length, with distinct tannins accompanying its fresh acidity. The 2010 Lagrein is instantly recognizable despite its location at the edge of the vineyards, and its special growing conditions are reflected in its vivacious acidity.
