Reopening on 1st April 2012. Twelve hectares of magnificent garden, with over 3,800 different plant varieties: there is more than enough in the gardens at
Schloss Trautmannsdorff to make any flower-lover’s heart swell.
Each day hundreds of visitors experience the plant life of all continents during a stroll among the quiet gardens, where the air is scented by thousands upon thousands of flowers.
Now during the summer months visitors to the Sinnesgarten or “garden of the senses” are greeted by the scent of English roses. This is succeeded a little later by the heavy but agreeable exotic aroma of the imperial lily with its petals measuring up to 15 centimetres.
The lavender bushes trimmed into sphere-like shapes are a feast for the eyes, with their blue flowers forming scented strips along the slope, while water-lilies and magnificent lotus flowers adorn the water-lily pond.
