Slopes of the Sella Ronda
Sella-Ronda Ski Marathon
Over 400 competitors from all over Europe will line up at the start to take part in this unique challenge on the slopes of the Dolomites. The event is an Alpine ski touring race, with competitors taking part in teams of two.
Competitors will avail themselves of touring ski skins and head lamps. The route leads through the night time landscape of the Ladin-speaking valleys passing the main villages Selva/Wolkenstein, Corvara, Arabba and Canazei, and crossing the four Dolomite passes Passo Gardena, Campolongo, Pordoi and Sella.
Skiers will overcome a distance of 42 kilometres with a total difference in altitude of 2,700 metres (8,859 ft).
