Concerts played by top musicians, lectures by famous academics, award presentation of the International Record Prize, new contacts and meetings reaching beyond borders – these are some of the features which encapsulate the Gustav Mahler Music Weeks, taking place in the upper Val Pusteria/Pustertal valley, Mahler’s favourite summer retreat.
Here he composed his "Das Lied von der Erde" 100 years ago.

Once again music enthusiasts can look forward to a broad range of musical performances, for in addition to works by Gustav Mahler, Richard Strauss and Franz Schubert the programme will include vocal works from the Renaissance period and baroque organ pieces, works from the Romantic period, music from the Classical epoch through to jazz and contemporary composers.
