Pomus in Lana

Fruit growing has a long tradition in South Tyrol. Back in the 16th century couriers took fresh and conserved fruit from here to Austrian and Russian palaces. In 1926 a number of farmers from Lana got together to form a fruit cooperative under the motto 'Strength in harmony' in order to sell their fruit together. Today the Pomus cooperative covers a cultivation area of 306.81hectares and includes 173 members. It delivers approx. 16,802.506 kg apples and this efficiently run business is equipped with the latest technology.
